Mission and Values

OUR MISSION UMass Memorial is committed to improving the health of the people of our diverse communities of Central New England through culturally sensitive excellence in clinical care, service, teaching and research. UMass Memorial Department of Emergency Medical Services is a division of the UMass Memorial Medical Center and fully embraces and participates in the achievement of this goal. OUR VISION As one of the premier Emergency Medical Service (EMS) providers in New England, the UMass Memorial EMS Department will provide leadership and innovation in the delivery of EMS and related services to our constituents, while promoting education and research, all of which are designed to provide exceptional care to our patients. We achieve this via three specific programs within our Department:

  • UMass Memorial LifeFlight – the region’s air ambulance service, which delivers exceptional critical care transport services to the severely ill and injured across New England
  • UMass Memorial/Worcester EMS – the ground emergency ambulance provider for the communities of Worcester and Shrewsbury, Massachusetts
  • UMass Memorial EMS Communications Center – the coordinating center for air and ground ambulance services and critical Hospital notifications and services
