With an average of 10 years of experience in pre-hospital care, our paramedics are among the most experienced in Massachusetts. Each and every paramedic at Worcester EMS is credentialed by our medical director to provide medically enhanced intubation (MEI), and is required to attend Department-provided continuing education and ongoing training at least four times per calendar year. Worcester EMS employs 44 full-time and 40 part time and per diem paramedics.
Many of our staff also function as preceptors and field training officers, orienting new members of our team as well as helping to educate students enrolled in several area paramedic training programs.
Our Supervisors (EMS Captains) are all certified paramedics with years of experience, and their presence in the field helps assure the delivery of quality, safe, and patient centered care to our community. In addition, our supervisors participate in local and regional projects and committees that help advance the delivery of care to those most in need. Learn more about our field supervisors on our Management & Administration page.
Meet Our People
With over 80 full-time, part-time, and per-diem paramedics in Worcester EMS, it's difficult to convey the breadth of experience, knowledge, and dedication of all these fine providers all at once. Therefore, we will periodically introduce a different paramedic to our community, allowing folks to learn more about the special individuals who help keep the Heart of the Commonwealth beating!
